Centrelink office opening at Deception Bay
Residents at Deception Bay now have access to a wide range of Centrelink services with the opening of a new Customer Service Centre in the community.
Minister for Human Services, Senator Joe Ludwig, joined Member for Longman, Jon Sullivan MP, and Member for Petrie, Yvette D’Ath MP, to officially open the centre on the corner of Maine Terrace and Bay Avenue, Deception Bay.
“This new centre will provide the local community at Deception Bay with better access to Centrelink services and support,” Senator Ludwig said.
“It offers the full range of Centrelink services for families, seniors, young people, students, jobseekers, people with a disability and carers.”
“The centre also gives local residents access to Centrelink’s new e-service arrangements, with four computers and two telephones available for customer use.”
Mrs D’Ath said the new centre is located in the main shopping centre at Deception Bay, with car parking, and disabled street access. It is also close to suburban bus routes.
“This new centre will make it easier and more convenient for locals to do business with Centrelink,” Mrs D’Ath said.
“The modern building has the latest technology to meet the growing local demand for better access to government services.”
Mr Sullivan said the Deception Bay community previously had to go to Kippa-Ring and Caboolture Centrelink offices.
“There are more than 11,000 Centrelink customers living at Deception Bay,” Mr Sullivan said.
“It’s great Centrelink is now part of the local community and will be able to provide quality service to these customers.”
