Minister officially opens new Medicare office in Belmont
Minister for Human Services, Chris Bowen MP, today officially opened the new Medicare office in Belmont, Western Australia.
“I’m proud to be here in Belmont to fulfil the Government’s election commitment to provide a full range of Medicare services to eastern suburbs residents,” Mr Bowen said.
“This office is a step forward in service delivery, as it will provide Medicare services and Centrelink assistance in one convenient location.”
Mr Bowen thanked Medicare and Centrelink staff for their hard work to deliver the office in December 2009, a month ahead of schedule.
Medicare rebates will be paid using EFTPOS terminals to credit them straight into people’s accounts, while a Centrelink Customer Service Adviser will be on hand to help customers with Centrelink enquiries and assist them with Centrelink’s self service facilities.
