As the Morrison Government moves to make Australian’s lives simpler, records have been smashed as more people than ever use myGov to access the tax cuts delivered this year.

Australians logged in to myGov a record 39 million times in July. myGov’s busiest July day clocked up more than 1.8 million logins, about 60 per cent higher than last year. The month of July also saw around 25 million transactions recorded through myGov per day, more than doubling the 12 million daily transactions for the same time last year.

Minister for Government Services, Stuart Robert, said the record use of myGov comes as Australians received tax relief, thanks to the Morrison Government’s legislated tax cuts, with $13 billion provided since the start of July.

‘Behind the 39 million digital logins, there are every day Australians accessing government services at a time and place of their choosing, without queuing up in a shopfront or at the end of a phone line.’ Minister Robert said.

‘In those important moments when Australians reach out for government services, like tax time, they expect a simple, seamless and secure interaction. We are committed to working hard to provide a better experience and these results demonstrate we are making good progress.’

‘Our approach to simplifying government services is to put Australians in the driver’s seat, so they can access services on their terms and these results demonstrate millions of people are seeing the benefits.’

More than 9.7 million people have now linked their ATO online account to myGov and close to one million people linked their ATO online accounts to myGov in July alone. The introduction of Single Touch Payroll saw a majority of people received their payment summaries through myGov, further simplifying the individual tax return process.
